I am Assistant Professor of Russian Studies at the University of Kentucky. My research examines modern and contemporary Russian poetry, the intersection of literature and the visual arts, contemporary Russian cinema, theater and political performance, and foreign language pedagogy. My current book project, _Snapshots of the Soul: Photo-Poetic Encounters in Modern Russian Culture_, examines the influence of photography on Russian poetic writing. A.B.
