Before joining the doctoral program at the North Dakota State University Department of English, Tatjana earned her M.A. in English Philology and Anthropology from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich, Germany. Having a strong background in sociolinguistics and the history of the English language, she is also interested in rhetoric, histories of writing instruction, archival research, and oral histories. She specifically focuses on the research connected to the ethnic group of the Volga Germans from Russia.
